Target raises thousands for WellChild

A busy year of fundraising has ended with our Target team donating £5,350 to WellChild, which has its headquarters in Cheltenham.

We organised a host of fundraising events during 2018 in aid of the national charity for sick children, and invited charity representatives to join us for a mince pie and a glass of mulled wine last week when we announced the final total.

The main events of the year included a bacon roll delivery service for local businesses and a golf day where we organised a raffle and silent auction. We threw ourselves into the fundraising, receiving help and support from local firms and clients along the way.

Members of the team also had the privilege of meeting some of the families supported by the charity when they attended WellChild’s annual awards in London, earlier this year, alongside charity patron the Duke of Sussex who was accompanied by his wife, the Duchess of Sussex.

“Considering we had such a big year of fundraising when we celebrated our 40th anniversary in 2017, our expectations were more modest for 2018; it’s been brilliant to exceed them!” said Chief Executive, Sarah Bryars. “We’re delighted to be donating more than £5,000 to WellChild, thanks to our hard-working team.

“We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone that has supported us and helped us raise much-needed funds. We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank WellChild for making the team here at Target feel so appreciated.”

“Christmas is a tough time of year for families with seriously ill children and we are delighted to receive this support from Target who have been enthusiastic supporters of WellChild again this year,” said Colin Dyer, Chief Executive of WellChild. “With their help we can improve the lives of seriously ill children and their families across the UK, not just at Christmas but all through the year.”
