Target tees off… again

Following our own golf day for WellChild back in June, our Chairman Colin Spencer and Account Director Toby Aiken took to the course again to support WellChild’s own Mark Foster Golf Day.

Held annually at The Shire, London, on the only course in the UK designed by the legend Seve Ballesteros, Colin and I were joined by Adam Newman of Newman Langley and Olympic swimmer James Guy. The day kicked off with bacon rolls and each team meeting the celebrity guests before a ‘shotgun start’ at midday where TeamTarget started play on the 8th hole.

It was a challenging course, with extra challenges laid on by sponsors such as the longest putt competition, hole in one and longest drive, which Colin held for a while! At the end of the day, having scored respectably, but not enough to challenge the leaderboard, dinner was served in the clubhouse and guests were entertained by the magical talents of Jamie Raven.

Supporting WellChild throughout our 40th birthday year has been fantastic. There’s been fun and laughter, but also cause for thought. Hearing the stories of the families the charity has helped, the changes they have made to lift the lives of ill children and their loved ones, is truly inspiring and being even a small part of that is humbling indeed.

We’ve raised in excess of £6,000 for the charity this year, enough to fund one such project, so hopefully, somewhere, there’s a family in need who we, and those who have supported our charity events, have helped.

So we wanted to thank you for your continued support – it means more than you realise.
