As a local business connected to the communities we serve, we take pride in giving back to organisations that make a difference in the area we call home.

During the last 12 months, we’ve raised £7,182 for our chosen charity, the Maggie’s Centre in Cheltenham. Maggie’s offers free support in a calm environment for people and their loved ones affected by cancer. Adding this total to the previous year, we’ve already raised £13,850, and we’re not done yet!

As we wrap up another incredible year of fundraising, we’re reflecting on some of the highlights and achievements we’ve shared together.

Bringing home the bacon

We started the year strong with our breakfast roll run, raising £700 to fuel our fundraising efforts. Partnering with Moran’s Eating House and Creed Foodservice, we braved a chilly February morning with a shared sense of determination and excitement.

As the frost hung in the air, we set out on a mission to deliver 175 freshly made bacon and vegetarian sausage rolls to local businesses across the area. It was a great way to connect with the community and offer a tasty morning treat to businesses who donated to the cause.

A springtime surprise

As spring arrived, we paid a visit to the team at Maggie’s and brightened their day with a hamper full of Easter treats, including chocolate eggs, fresh daffodils, a selection of teas, and biscuits. It was a small gesture, but we were keen to show our appreciation for everything the Maggie’s team does.

Getting into the swing of things

July rolled around, and with it came the much-anticipated highlight of our year—our charity golf day! We had 12 teams of avid golfers eager to take on the 18-hole course at Brickhampton Court.

There were also plenty of fantastic prizes up for grabs in our raffle, generously donated by other local businesses. After an exciting day of competition, golfers returned to the clubhouse where they were treated to a delicious BBQ, the perfect way to refuel and swap stories from the course.

At the end of the day our Chairman, Colin Spencer, presented the coveted Claret Jug to the winning team, a moment of triumph and glory after hours of intense play.

We were absolutely blown away by the support of everyone who attended. Thanks to their generosity, we raised a whopping £6,482 to boost our fundraising even further.

Eyes on the prize

September brought with it the anticipated return of the charity Diamond Rush in Cheltenham and Gloucester.

Hosted by the fantastic team at Beards Jewellers, this year’s competition promised even more thrills. With 22 sparkling 0.5ct diamonds hidden throughout Cheltenham and its surrounding areas, and 10 incredible prizes up for grabs, the race was officially on!

Among the eager participants were our very own Account Executive, Abbie, and Office Manager, Bev. After a morning full of searching high and low, their efforts were rewarded when they successfully found one of the glittering diamonds!

All proceeds from the event were generously donated to Beards chosen charities, which included Maggie’s.

License to Thrill

In October, we were treated to a night to remember as we donned our finest attire for the inaugural Maggie’s Ball. With a sophisticated James Bond black-tie theme, we were all set to party in style and celebrate the incredible work that Maggie’s does to support so many people.

Hosted at Leonardo’s Hotel in Cheltenham, we were welcomed with a cocktail on arrival, setting the tone for the night ahead. As the evening unfolded, we enjoyed a tasty three-course meal, live entertainment, and the chance to win some brilliant prizes.

In true 007 fashion, we couldn’t resist trying our luck at the casino tables, before dancing the night away, all while raising money for Maggie’s.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear this wasn’t your average evening out—it was a night of glamour, generosity, and lots of fun.

Looking ahead

As we step into our third year of fundraising for Maggie’s, we’ve got plenty of ideas in the pipeline to work with our local community and raise even more money for the centre.

We’ll be posting updates across our social platforms, so keep your eyes peeled on our Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn to see what we get up to!
